It is a good size piece that can be easily adjusted by hand. The air/fuel screw is on the front part of the bottom of the carb near the intake boot. If you loosen the clamp, you can turn the carb sideways enough to adjust it while still mounted. N. nemesis_MDA Discussion starter. 2 posts · Joined 2009. #1 · Aug 12, 2009. my 03 650 prairie has been put up for awhile and I just got it back out, replaced batt,plugs,oil,took apart carbs and cleaned them.but it is backfiring bad out of carbs and exhaust at 1/4 throttle and on. don't know where to go from here.The float didn't get itself out of adjustment while sitting over the winter. The float settings are consistent on these engines. I would be looking at the fuel enricheners (choke) stuck open, or the entire carbs being gummed up. 2002 698 Prairie.
