It will date to late 1962 or early 1963 and could be one of any of their 3 models at that time. Does the receiver or barrel say 99F, 99E or 99M? Has to be one of those three models, and all of them had a stamp on them somewhere. BTW, the 99M is a model 99DL, there was never a 99M. I recently picked up a 99e that needs a little love. Main issue right now is that the lever action is a little clunky and everything is in need of a good cleaning. I am assuming it's just a bit gunked due to age. Savage model 99 questions. I have two, a 99A in 308 and a 99E in the same caliber. The A model won't close on fired cases from factory loads fired in it. It is an accurate rifle, light and fast handling.
