I took my saddle off of my horse at the ranch and walked it over to the barn, thinking I could store it there. In one of the stalls I got a prompt to drop the saddle.

I’ve never run into a situation like this though. Your saddle should be taken to the stable if it’s ever lost. So with the +2 to speed and acceleration the trapper saddles all give you the stats from the best stirrups.
